Fulu Miziki
July 11, 2026
Fulu Miziki is the collective shaking up the music scene with their wild, Afrofuturism-inspired sound – all created with self-made instruments built from trash. The name means “Music from Trash,” reflecting the group’s core idea: everything can be recycled and transformed into something new.
Rooted in Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Fulu Miziki blends punk, electronic sounds, and industrial soukous into an unmistakable sound. Their instruments, costumes, and stage setups are all made from recycled materials, forming part of a vision centered on transformation, sustainability, and artistic freedom.
Since 2020, Fulu Miziki has been performing on European stages and festivals while also leading workshops with young people about the creative potential of music and recycling. Their debut EP Ngbaka (2022) quickly drew attention with its mix of traditional rumba and modern electronic sounds, followed by the fiery Mokano EP in 2024.
