Tarabband

July 11, 2026

A unique live band with influences from North Africa, the Middle East, and Europe—regions where they have also achieved great success. 2026 marks Tarabband’s 18th year of music and live performances. From Malmö, Sweden, Tarabband’s music continues to travel across Europe and the world.

With Nadin Al Khalidi’s charismatic and sensitive voice, universal lyrics in Arabic, and the band’s distinctive sound and interplay, Tarabband has built a loyal audience in Sweden and abroad, especially in the Middle East. Their latest studio album “Yekhaf” is rooted in human encounters and situations that the singer, composer, and lyricist Nadin Al Khalidi has experienced in recent years. The Arabic lyrics weave together stories of people and life paths unfolding in parallel across different parts of the world—in Malmö, in the Wadi Rum mountains of Jordan, in Mosul, Iraq, in Cairo, and in Baghdad, where Nadin was born and raised.

When the musicians of Tarabband come together, they create rich and evocative soundscapes that elegantly frame, retell, and amplify these stories. Their original compositions move fluidly across multiple genres such as jazz, Latin, North African, folk, and more. Tarabband’s music has also been performed alongside major string orchestras including Musica Vitae, the Nordic Chamber Orchestra, the Norrbotten String Orchestra, and the Gothenburg Opera strings.

A powerful live band where interplay and storytelling take the audience on an unforgettable musical and human journey.
